SCOTT present at FWT Fieberbrunn – new Official Supplier of Juniors
Following the success of the first Freeride World Tour Juniors in 2011, the adventure continues this year with stops in Chamonix, Fieberbrunn and Verbier, always within the frame of the FWT events. This year the 3 Junior events form a series that will come up with an overall winner.
The format gives young riders between 14 and 17 years of age the possibility to show off their skills and gather competition experiences. The points they get will be converted to FWQ ranking points as soon as they turn 18. Next to competing the juniors will spend a day with different workshops treating the safety aspect of the freeriding sport.

«As kids start to explore the backcountry at increasingly younger ages and the industry produces freeride material designed for their needs their level of riding has exploded in the past few years.» says Jan Engberg, part of the SCOTT winter marketing department «Along with fellow partner DaKine we feel that is our duty to offer those charging juniors not only a platform to compete on but also, and more importantly, to teach them about the dangers out there. If you want to grow strong you need to be safe. The FWT is doing a great job and as the official supplier we're proud of being part of it.»
Best example for how close juniors and pros can be is Fabian Lentsch who made the cut for the SCOTT European Team this summer. Last season, at the age of 17, he won the Junior competition in Fieberbrunn. This year he got a wild card for the Freeride World Tour pro event and is considered a serious threat for the big names.

European Team Athletes Fabian Lentsch and Stefan Hausl. Last year Stefan congratulated Fabi for winning the junior event, this year they will be competing against each other at the official FWT stop in Fieberbrunn
As official supplier SCOTT will not only be present with its event-truck and a ski test but they will also be part of the «Safety Zone» and play an educational role in the safety workshops.
Of course the weekend is not only about the kids but also about the grown-ups. The pro competition is guaranteed to provide a intense amount of action and thrills so make sure not to miss it. If you are still not convinced, here‘s the trailer
