Dangerholm's Hyper Spark

Inspired by modern Road bikes and Hyper Cars, Dangerholm introduces his latest build - the Hyper Spark, a pearl white fully integrated mountain bike with outstanding attention to detail.

Sweden, 2021. We've seen many projects from Gustav Gullholm aka "Dangerholm" in recent years, each one truly unique in their own way, striving for the ultimate in attention to detail time and time again. That being said, there is one Spark that stands out like no other. Who needs hyper cars if you can have a "Hyper Spark?" Just when you thought you'd seen everything, Dangerholm drops the mic... again.

Inspired by modern road bikes and hyper cars alike, Dangerholm set out to apply the same sleek and clean look of these to SCOTT's full suspension mountain bike the Spark RC. Build from scratch with some of the industry's finest parts and technologies, as well as fully integrated cable routing, wrapped into a custom "pearl white" finish, this bike is not meant to pick up dust in showrooms.

With it's top of the line spec, one piece Syncros carbon wheels and state-of-the-art world-cup winning carbon bike frame, this bike is meant to be ridden and bound to make it one of the fastest bikes out there.

The Build

The Hyper Spark comes with the latest technologies such as SRAM AXS wireless shifting and FOX LiveValve automatic electronic suspension. A lot of modifications, ingenuity and attention to detail were required to complete this ambitious build. A steering stop system was molded onto the SCOTT Spark RC SL frame in order not to damage the internally routed cables, as well as modifications to the handlebars and fork to allow for the custom cable routing. All heavily reinforced with safety in mind, and endless hours spent on creating a perfect finish for the end result.

Building process - how ideas come to life in Dangerholm's workshop

"I was heavily inspired by modern road bikes like the SCOTT Foil with it's super clean and fully integrated cockpit. Once you get used to seeing bikes without visible cables, it's clear how much it changes the impression of the bike and highlights its design. I've wanted to bring this look to mountain bikes for a long time and finally I could make it happen.

The biggest challenge was to sort out the cable routing, how to actually keep things fully usable. Over the two year build process my ideas evolved quite a lot, and maybe it was a good thing it took so long. Sure there is still room for improvement, but everything works and the bike is ready to hit the trails. I can't wait for spring. The hyper car inspiration wasn't all about looks, performance was key. Gustav Gullholm, better known as Dangerholm, is a custom bike builder from Sweden. In recent years he's taken bikes to their extreme by building the World's Lightest XC bikes as well as the lightest 29" Downhill bike. It's not all about weight though, the bikes must always ride great and look the part. With his latest SCOTT based project, the Hyper Spark, he focuses on the latter two trying to build the fastest riding and the cleanest looking XC/XCM mountain bike the world has ever seen.
