Bronze-Medal for Sebastian Kienle at Challenge Kraichgau
Sebastian Kienle proved once more that he is one of the best long distance athletes in Europe with a 3rd place at the ETU half distance European Championships in Kraichgau/Germany last weekend.
After 23:18 the first man, Viktor Aloshyn, came first out of the water followed by Sylvain Sudrie (FRA) and Timo Bracht (GER). Andres Raelert (GER) was about 15 seconds behind and Sebastian Kienle 90 seconds back.
15 men formed the first group with Kienle chasing them hard and by the 35km mark he caught them. Right there, Kienle tried to escape by setting the pace up front but he couldn’t get away. Sudrie finally made the final move and got away by 70 seconds and brought this advance into T2 followed by 9 chasers.

Sudrie tried hard to keep the gap open but Raelert and Kienle were chasing hard behind him. Raelert made it through at 5k and passed Sudrie with Kienle still behind him.
Sebastian managed to pass Sudrie soon and took over second place, but the Frenchman came back to get back in front with 500 meters to go, grabbing 2nd place.
With Sebastian Kienle finishing 3rd and Nicolas Fernandez (FRA, running in the SCOTT T2C) in 10th, SCOTT placed as only bike brand that had two riders in the TOP 10 at this European Championships.
