A day as a ski patroller in Chamonix: Meet Hubert

10 febrero 2025

This February 10th, as we celebrate International Ski Patrol Day, we wanted to take a look behind the curtain at the jobs of these people whose daily mission is to secure the ski area while going almost unnoticed.

This time, we went to see Hubert and his team, who are responsible for ensuring the safety of the Grands-Montets ski area in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley. Securing the slopes, triggering avalanches, helping customers, rescuing the slightly injured or those involved in major accidents - it's a job for men and women who, from dawn to dusk, face up to the most extreme conditions in the mountains to look after us, the skiers.
