Tom Wallisch Named Skier of the Year

For the second time in three years, SCOTT's own Tom Wallisch has claimed the title of Skier of the Year, receiving over 27,000 votes in Freeskier Magazine's online competition.  The voting competition ran for the month of November on Freeskier.com, with dedicated Wallisch fans showing their support and voting Tom through the various brackets and on to victory.

With the kind of season that Wallisch had last winter, it's no surprise that he would be in the running for the coveted title; landing on seven podiums and taking home two X-Games medals is sure to garner votes.  but it's more than just his stellar competition performances that make Tom a favorite among the fans.  As you can read here in Freeskier's full coverage of the announcement, it's his relentless work ethic and modest, down-to-earth attitude that really set him apart from the rest.
