Jonas Deichmann completes Challenge 120

16 September 2024

Jonas Deichmann is an extreme endurance athlete and adventurer who has tons of astonishing achievements to his name. In 2023 he did trans America, twice. For this year, he took on the most popular triathlon course in the world, Challenge Roth.

Challenge Roth, home of triathlon, is the biggest long-distance triathlon in the world. Every year, around 3,500 individual athletes and 700 relay teams fulfill their triathlon dreams at DATEV Challenge Roth. With 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and finishing off with 42 km of running, the route corresponds to the route of the world's most popular long distance triathlon, DATEV Challenge Roth. It is tough enough doing it once, imagine this triathlon every day for 120 days. Between the 9th of May to the 5th of September, Jonas Deichmann has spent his days out on the Challenge Roth course, doing a full triathlon every day. Half-way through his challenge, Jonas took part on the day of the official Challenge Roth and completed the course together with the pros and 3,500 individual athletes.

The Challenge 120 has not only been a huge accomplishment in itself, but also part of breaking a world record. The former world record holder completed 105 triathlons in 105 days, meaning the 120 consecutive days of long-distance triathlon is another world record for Jonas to hang on the wall. His days on the Challenge Roth route result in a total of 456 km of swimming, 21,000 km of cycling and 5,063 km of running.

"I will always be an adventurer, but I want to find out what is really possible and where better to do that than at the legendary Challenge Roth."  - Jonas Deichmann
