A single trail tour through the Sella Ronda
Many mountain bikers know the Sella Ronda, and there really is no better way to experience it than on a hut tour. The three-day hut tour takes you more or less around the Sella mountain range, and packs in the region’s best highlights along the way. Starting in Klausen, in the Isarco Valley, the first day of the tour is dedicated to the Sassolungo. This mighty mountain forms the backdrop on the way from Alpe di Siusi over to the Val di Fassa. The first overnight stay is in the legendary Rifugio Fredarola, which can be reached by gondola, and is located opposite the magnificent Marmolada Glacier.
The glacier is the focus for the second day, as we cruise down panoramic trails and little-known routes to the Val de Fodom and climb back up to the extraordinary Las Vegas hut in the Alta Badia, for our second stage destination. Here, the view of the Sella is sublime, and prepares us for our third day. On this day, many ascents will be done by mountain railway, eventually reaching Wolkenstein via Passo Gardena to tackle the phenomenal final descent into the Eisack Valley at Resciesa, high above Val Gardena.
All in all, this is a fantastic three-day tour amidst stunning scenery, with culinary excellence, superb trails and mountain railway transport on offer – the perfect mountain bike program!
During the tour, all luggage is transported from hut to hut (one piece of luggage per person). The huts offer high-quality hotel standard accommodation. The three-day Dolomiti Supersummer ticket is included, allowing routes to be shortened or extended as required.

Program
Arriving on Thursday, we meet in the evening at the Hotel Walther von der Vogelweide in the historic center of Klausen.
If arriving by car (individual or carpool), vehicles can be left in Klausen for the duration of the trip.
On Friday, the day starts comfortably with a shuttle up to Seis followed by a gondola up to the Alpe di Siusi plateau, where the mighty Sassolungo rises up in the background. The Sassolungo stays in view on the ascent up to the Plattkofel hut and the starting point of the sensational single trail descent down to Val di Fassa. Once there, the gondola floats back up to the Col dei Rossi where, after a short five-minute climb, we arrive at the legendary Rifugio Fredarola to enjoy an aperitif on the terrace, directly opposite the Marmolada Glacier.
If you would like to extend the day’s stage, it's possible to add some freeride downhill trails to the program, before ascending to the Rifugio. The mountain railway transport is free for participants.

The day starts early at the Rifugio Fredarola, before the tourists arrive. Alone, and in the morning light, today’s itinerary leads us down the Super Trail to Arabba, before taking the gondola up to Porto Vescovo and riding the Panoramic Trail, opposite the breathtaking Marmolada Glacier. Finally, we head back to Arabba, climbing up to the Pralongià, partly supported by a chairlift, and with the Sella in view. We arrive at a meadow plateau surrounded by rugged Dolomite summits, considered to be one of the most beautiful plateau in the Alps, and home to today’s stage destination: the extraordinary Rifugio Las Vegas.

The final stage starts as it did the day before: alone and in the beautiful morning light. The morning program is on the trails of Alta Badia, followed by a gondola over Passo Gardena down to Selva Gardena, and onwards to Ortisei. Once here, we take the funicular to Rasciesa where we reach the start of a long, single trail descent to Klausen. This final trail is a real highlight and the ideal way to finish off an impressive round-trip of the Dolomites. We return to Klausen in the late afternoon, before departing in the evening.

The starting point of the trip is Klausen, in the Eisack Valley, between the Brenner Pass and Bolzano.
By Plane
The most practical airport is Innsbruck, followed by train to Klausen train station. 10-minute walk to the hotel.
By Train

By Car
Easily accessible via the Brenner motorway from Bolzano (A22) or Innsbruck (A13) to the Klausen exit. Parking is available on site at the hotel.

Hotel Walther von der Vogelweide
The Hotel Walther von der Vogelweide is located in the historic village center of Klausen and has been a guesthouse since the 14th century. The rooms have been renovated and the kitchen turns out some excellent dishes. In the large loggia, you’ll be able to get acclimatized for the Dolomiti Sella tour.
Rifugio Fredarola
The Rifugio Fredarola is one of the most exceptional mountain huts in the Dolomites. It is located at 2390 meters above sea level, high above the Val di Fassa, directly opposite the Marmolada glacier. The unique terrace is the aperitif spot par excellence, and your dinner will be prepared by a first-class kitchen team. The rooms for the overnight stay are simple, of a good hotel standard and boast the most spectacular view.
Rifugio Las Vegas
Rifugio is not quite the right term for Las Vegas. It is a first-class hotel in the middle of the Pralongià plateau in Alta Badia, with spectacular views of the Sella, the Peitlerkofel and the Fanes Group. At 2050 meters above sea level, the rifugio even has an outdoor whirlpool! And the cuisine delivers the highest South Tyrolean standards – a gem for the final overnight stay on the Dolomiti Sella tour.
