MOTOCROSS MXGP OF ARGENTINA 2017
GP3: Argentina - Second GP win for Pauls Jonass
Winner in Qatar at the opening round of the 2017 FIM Motocross World Championship, Pauls Jonass was back to a double win in Argentina. The Latvian rider is back in second position in the series after three rounds.

For the third year in a row Villa La Angostura met the World Championship in the Andes foothill, on one of the most appreciated tracks by the riders. For Pauls Jonass it was a strong opportunity to get another double win after Qatar and show the paddock how determinate he is to succeed. “Indonesia was really disappointing for me because I had so much bad luck but here we made things right with a double win. I had a good feeling, great starts and in addition I was able to ride my own race without pushing too hard. I didn't make any big mistakes and that was the goal. I and Jorge had a few close calls, maybe too close for teammates! But that is racing and to go 1-2 was awesome for the whole team. I’m also happy for Jorge and his first podium of the season,” said Pauls who is now second in the standings.

As he said, one of his main rivals this weekend was teammate Jorge Prado who got both holeshots and was the first leader of the races. The young Spanish finished twice at the third rank (second overall), while previous series leader Julien Lieber finished tenth overall after a collision in the first race.

In the MXGP class, Clement Desalle got a podium result in the first race and was the first leader in race two. The Belgian struggled a bit with the track and scored a sixth overall to remain on the podium of the series.

The series make a break next weekend, before moving to Mexico for the fourth GP’s.
