Country: USA

City: San Francisco

Date of birth: 13/01/1983

Career highlights: I’m not a professional, so I don’t have the same career highlights that most of the athletes have. But for me, the biggest highlight was riding from San Francisco to Los Angeles with my best friends in 4 days. It was hands down the best time I’ve had on a bike.

Athlete talk

What is your all-time favourite riding destination?

Tahoe National Forest if full of the best gravel and dirt roads I’ve ridden in California. It’s definitely my favorite local destination.

What are you excited about with your partnership with SCOTT?

SCOTT has this level of stoke that I am extremely lucky to be part of. I’ve met some of the kindest people in the cycling industry at SCOTT. It’s easy to partner with a company when it’s stacked full of awesome human beings who love what you’re doing as much as you love their bikes.

What does "No Shortcuts" mean to you?

No Shortcuts to me means making sure you are having fun on your bike first. Everything else will fall into place if you’re having fun first.

What do you get up to when you’re not out riding?

My other hobby is behind the camera. I love taking photographs. Photo walks are extremely important for the artistic side of my personality. I think being creative with photography is a real driving force in my life.

Outside of cycling, where do you draw inspiration from?

I draw inspiration from my friends and all the amazing feats they accomplish. Watching them succeed is so inspiring! I’m more stoked for their success than my own.

You’re stranded on a desert island. What three things would you want with you?

This is tough. Do you pick things for survival? Something to keep you entertained? I’m going to go with survival. 1. A knife 2. A hammock (not a sleeping on the ground kind of guy) 3. Biggest box of matches you can get.

If you could put up a billboard to be seen by countless people every day, what would you put on it?

I’d fill it with pictures of people enjoying their favorite things. A little reminder that life should be fun.
