2022 marked an incredible first year supporting Braveheart Runners. However, the journey is only just beginning as we have embarked on a long-term partnership with the team and the adventure has only just started. Last year the team had many new experiences, including traveling to Europe for the first time, as well as taking part in their first trail race. As expected, there were challenges to overcome, but the team made the most of their time in Europe.

Established in 2021, Braveheart Runners Team was founded by Alistair Davidson with the objective of giving opportunities to the talented runners of the high-altitude town of Iten, Kenya. At 2,400 meters above sea level, and with endless dirt roads for training, Iten is home to many aspiring runners. Braveheart Runners teams’ year-long scholarship program provides the opportunity for local runners to develop and showcase their talents on the world stage. As Official Product Partner, SCOTT equips the athletes in high-performance products as well as financially supporting the team.

In 2023, there is a new set of athletes to fill the shoes of the 2022 roster. The scholarship lasts a year and covers living expenses, access to physiotherapy and coaching as well as support at iconic races in Europe.

The Braveheart Runners Team scholarship athletes will be equipped with SCOTT’s high-performance RC running shoes and apparel, with equipment provided for both trail and road racing.

We have and will be continuing to document the development of the young athletes in a YouTube series, including the team coming together for a bootcamp in Kenya, to road and trail races in Europe. Stay tuned for our next episodes and for more behind-the-scenes and insights of the athletes’ journeys.
