Just a week after celebrating his first ever 450 win during a British championship race, to prepare the upcoming Motocross of Nations where he will represent England, Tommy Searle claimed his third heat win of the season in the penultimate race of the series. Coming back from tenth to second behind Roczen in race one, Tommy battled with Roczen and Herlings in race two and beats his two rivals to celebrate his second GP win after France.
“I think the second race was one of the best of the year for the fans; when the three fastest guys go away in front of the race and can race each other, we really put on a show ! I'm satisfied with this weekend as I showed a lot of people what I can do in this class. After the first practice I thought it was the worst track I had ridden all year but then I surprised myself by my speed and the track developed really well. When I was behind Ken or Jeffrey I wasn't even pushing so hard; I still had plenty in reserve. To get this GP win is a big moment for me and for the team as we’ve been the fastest all weekend. In the second race I had a great start and showed what I am capable of; it's important for me to get better starts and that’s something we’ll have to work on this winter” said Tommy after the event. Fourth, fifth and sixth of the GP, Arnaud Tonus, Gautier Paulin and Max Anstie all consolidate their standing before the last round of the season scheduled in Fermo (Italy) next weekend.
A crash in the opening MX1 race ruined the ambitions of Christophe Pourcel who dominates the qualifying day and ended his weekend with another win. Coming back from last to sixth within two laps in race one, the Frenchman crashed on a jump and retired; he dominates Antonio Cairoli, winner of the GP and MX1 World Champion for the third year in a row during the second heat. Max Nagl had a technical problem in qualification and started from the last position, which cost him any chance to perform well in his home GP; seventh of the event, he will try to keep his fourth position in the standings in Italy.
