Episode 4 - Family bivouac
Today, in episode 4, we're off on a mountain bike for a family bivouac with Timy, Chloé and Marius. We headed for the village of Béranger, in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville (73), for an 800-metre climb to the Col de Jean, at an altitude of 2049 metres, offering a breathtaking view of Méribel on one side and Les Bellevilles on the other. Timy and Chloé carry the supplies and the tent, while Marius enjoys the trip in the warmth of his rucksack with his marmot.
Enjoy some family time away from the city, with a breathtaking view of the sunset, accompanied by a mountain snack specially prepared for the occasion. After a night in nature, we'll head back down to civilisation in the early hours.
Episode 3 - Back to School
Walking through the mountains, playing with the terrain, and gazing at endless landscapes... The list of pleasures that MTB (mountain biking) offers could be very long, but they become even more intense when shared with family! Whether in a bike park, on 4x4 trails, exploring wilder paths, or simply biking to school (Back to School), the possibilities are almost limitless. There's no need to venture into exotic or wild lands—adventure starts right outside your door, from small excursions to discover the surroundings to packing your backpack for a bivouac adventure.
• But what should you pack to handle the unexpected and ensure that every family member enjoys the experience?
• How do you plan your ride and adjust the difficulty level so everyone progresses at their own pace?
• What are the key concepts and points to focus on to ensure fun for all, considering age, experience, or simply concerns, so that one day the student might surpass the teacher?

No matter the parents' experience level—whether you're a novice eager for fresh air, a bike park enthusiast, or an experienced rider—it’s not always easy to answer all these questions. You'll likely find them over time, sometimes through trial and error, but to help you avoid tricky situations, we invite you to follow the Théaux family's journey and discover their tips, from the youngest to the oldest!
